CUPID 1

I planned it to be a short fic, but then again(as expected of me), my ideas went wild and it came out like this... so maybe i'll make this a two-shot or even three shot...LOL

It seems really hard for me to update my campus crush. i know where it's going but i can't put it on paper...lol.so please bear with me..

Part 1

Hyoyeon, Tiffany and Seohyun were having their coffee break at the café near their dorm; they were animatedly talking about everything when their manager called asking them to go to SM Entertainment ASAP.

“I think there’s no need for us to change. Just wait for me here, I’ll get the car” Hyo said while standing up, she left after the two girls after they nodded in approval. Her pretty dress flowed as she hurried outside.

As soon as they saw Hyo’s car coming, Tiffany instructed Seohyun to pay for their orders while she head outside and went in the car.

Seohyun was in a hurry knowing that her Unnies are waiting for her; she was counting her change while walking when she bumped into a tall and handsome guy. “Oh, I’m sorry.” They both apologised at the same time. They looked into each other’s eyes for seconds but when the guy attempted to introduce himself, she immediately stepped back “its okay.” She turned her back, as soon as she was inside the car Hyo started the engine and drove off

“Seohyun-ah! Are you out of your mind?!” Tiffany exclaimed her eyes ready to get out of their sockets

“Kwenchana unnie, it was just a minor bump. It’s no biggie.” She answered while her hand is busy hovering inside her bag looking for her hand phone

“Not THAT! You should not just turn your back on a cutie that is checking you out!” Tiff sighed, her hand on her forehead while shaking her head “He was attracted to you SeoHyun-ah!”

“You know I’m not interested, right?” she answered in a matter-of-fact tone

“What am I going to do with you?” she added, exasperated

Yonghwa tried to introduce himself after he intentionally bumped Seohyun, but failed. He was trying to read her, trying to ignite her attraction to opposite sex, but to no avail his effort was nil. He looked at her retreating back with growing interest. “What’s on your mind Seohyun?” he asked himself “Too bad reading minds is not one of cupid’s many powers” he sighed and smiled to himself

The SNSD girls are getting ready to go home after their successful performance at Music Core, their managers and make-up artist were gone when someone barged inside their waiting room to their shock.

“Fans are not allowed here sir” Taeyeon said in a nice tone while approaching

“I’m guessing this is not the Super Junior’s waiting room.” He smiled charmingly

“Oh! Theirs is on the right wing, this is the left wing sir” Hyo answered politely

“I’m sorry” he was about to close the door when Tiffany stopped him

“Wait a minute!” she stood up and dragged Seohyun in front of him “He was the guy yesterday, right Seohyun?”

He studied her face before blurting out “So your name is Seohyun, I’m Yonghwa.” He smiled happily

Seohyun looked at him intently before she answered “Yeah, I think he was the one. Wait, you’re not a stalker, aren’t you?” she asked in her calm voice

“Of course not! This is pure coincidence” he answered “But I think it’s good to see you here” he added and smirked before he left, leaving Seohyun a target of her unnies teasing.

“That’s what you call fate, Seohyunie!” Tiffany bounced up and down in excitement

“So his name is Yonghwa. He’s really cute Seohyun-ah!” Hyo added

Seohyun shook her head while looking down to hide her blushing “I told you unnie, I’m not interested” she said politely, she opened the door and head out silently

Yonghwa was desperate; it has been days after the last encounter and he can’t see any changes in Seohyun’s daily routine. He has been touching male hearts with his powers to woo her but she kept on rejecting them.

“She needs special intervention” he told himself

The girls were all excited; they all thought of the same thing, it was a miracle that SM Entertainment has bought a new house big enough for them to have their own room.

“This house is huge! And we have our room for ourselves!” Taeyeon said in an excited voice as she roamed around the house, checking each room and the kitchen

“Yeah, having our own room is great but I think I’ll miss having a roommate.” Hyo said while smiling at Seohyun “So, can I take the room next to Seo?” she asked everyone, which they all agreed

Seohyun was busy unpacking her stuff inside her room. She stood up and arranged her make-ups, combs, and perfume on her dresser when on the left side of her peripheral vision she saw a pink light shone, as soon as she faced it she saw the man who bumped at her at the café and the one who went inside their waiting room a couple days back. Her eyes rounded, she wanted to scream but couldn’t, and felt her heart stopped in shock, she fainted right there and then.

Yonghwa looked at Seohyun’s reaction when she saw him standing in front of her out of nowhere. It was understandable. It’s the 21^st century, no one believes in magic anymore.

He caught her just in time before she fell on the ground when she fainted. Her head was hanging freely as his arm supports her neck. Gently, he placed her on her newly made-up bed. With adoring eyes he studied her, from her beautiful face down to her neck. He covered her gently with blanket. He swerved his hand and a glass of water magically appeared on her bedside table.

He watched her as she sleeps, waiting patiently for her to regain consciousness.

Seohyun opened her eyes “It must have been a dream” she told herself as she tried to sit

“I’m sorry to disappoint you Seo Joohyun, but I’m not a dream” he said in a soft voice “Please don’t be scared, I’m not a bad guy.”

“Eeyyeeaaahhh!!!” She screamed her lungs out but no one went inside her room to rescue “Where’s everybody?! Who are you?!!” she panicked her heart racing so fast thinking she might be the only one alive in that house

“They’re outside; it’s just that they can’t hear you from here.” Yonghwa informed. He formed his right hand into fist, coming from his ring is a pink circle the size of a crystal call, one by one her Unnies where shown in that circle. Yuri and Sunny cooking, Hyo on the phone, Tiffany and Yoona sorting up their stuff in their room, Taeyeon, Sooyoung and Jessica watching the TV.

“Now do you believe me and ready to listen?” Yonghwa asked in a calm voice smiling his most charming smile

Seohyun blinked her eyes and slapped her face thinking she is dreaming.

“I told you, you’re not dreaming, I’m here.” He said “As I told you my name is Yonghwa. I’m one of the many Cupids.” He informed her

Seohyun can’t still believe her own eyes but she can’t help but retort “Cupids have names?” she scoffed

“Well, our forefathers didn’t have names, they were just called Cupid the god of love but as time evolved and population in your world has gone big, we increased in number. And it was getting harder to identify who’s who, so we opted to have names. But nonetheless, we are still Cupid.” He explained

“I don’t need a CUPID. Just go to my Unnies. They’d like it” she motioned to her door

“There are Cupids that are in-charge for them. You saying you don’t need us; is the very reason why I was sent here to you. He wants you to experience what love is.”

“He?” she asked confused

“Our forefather, our elder.” he said “I’ll compare him to your President, or the CEO of your company or the leader of your group” he enlightened her

“But…”

“No more buts” he held her shoulders and guided her to stand. He opened his right palm in front of her heart, his ring glowed in bright pink, trying to engulf her whole body but failed, a static blue light was preventing the process to complete

“W-what are you doing to me?!” her eyes terrified as she asked

“You’re the one, who’s doing it Seohyun. That blue static light was the wall that enclosed your heart and refused to open up. Please allow me to soften that steel cage that you’ve put your heart into.” He said in a voice close to a whisper, they are standing inches apart. He looked at her eyes pleading.

Seohyun swallowed hard as her heart started to race. She diverts her gaze elsewhere. “It’s not that easy”

“Please show me what has happened to you for me to understand. Just think of your reasons and rely onto me and hold my hand as we take this journey together”

Seohyun reluctantly held Yonghwa’s hand as she thinks of her reasons.

A pink light that came from his ring has engulfed both of them and in an instant they were behind a wall. They saw a 5 year old Seohyun in a yellow dress holding a doll crying, they heard a woman’s voice yelling.

“Om…!” Seohyun was about to call her mother when he stopped her by putting his hand on her mouth.

“Sshhh.. we should keep quiet and keep it low. You don’t want to change history, do you? It might affect your current life if they’d catch us here. We’re just here to watch” he whispered to her ear, he removed his hand the moment she nodded

Her mother was yelling at his father for having an affair while his father is packing his things. He went out of the master’s bedroom, looked at the little girl who was crying non-stop. He picked her up, wiped her tears and said “Seohyunie mianhe. Take good care of yourself and your mom. I’ll come to visit you often, arachi?” after little Seohyun nodded, her father put her down and went out of their house

Seohyun’s eyes was full of agony while watching, she wiped a tear that dropped from her eye “That was the last time I saw him.” she said while controlling her voice “Let’s go to the next memory” she suggested as she held his hands.

The next thing Seohyun has seen was that they were ducking, covering them is a sofa. They saw a 7 year old Seohyun and a 9 year old girl sitting on it, while watching cartoons.

“Where are we?” Yonghwa asked in a whisper

“We’re at my aunt’s house, my mom used to bring me here before going somewhere. And that is my cousin Jiyoung.” She replied

Suddenly a drunken man started yelling at them, asking where his aunt is. Bothe girls cried, nervously. “Appa…. Omma is….” her cousin said in a trembling voice but cut off when a woman went out from the kitchen and hugged them tightly

“Don’t hurt the children” she said her eyes started to tear. She dragged them at a safe spot but then she was caught by her husband’s strong arms. Both of them were crying uncontrollably while they witness his uncle beat up her helpless aunt.

Good thing the neighbors heard them and ran for their rescue. They left the house that instant.

As Yonghwa was watching, he can feel Seohyun’s anger grew by the moment, he felt her hand drabbed his hand and with an ice-cold voice, she said “Let’s go”

They appeared in a campus; there they saw a 12 year old Seohyun, beside her was a handsome guy talking to her animatedly. She felt her heart swayed a little when he told her that he liked her, at first he’s with her everywhere, told her that he’d wait when she’s ready. But with her past experience, it was hard for her to trust men in general and to give her more reason, just a few weeks after his declaration, she found out he was courting somebody new.

They watched the teenage Seohyun watch the guy’s back with the new girl.

“So you have come to like someone in the past” Yonghwa said as he studied her expression

Seohyun smiled before she answered “I did not actually like him yet, that time I was more hurt because of the betrayal. He told me that he’d wait when I’m ready. But as expected, men are not worth to be trusted” She said looking straight at him with sad and disappointed eyes. She reached out for his hand “Next”

They were inside a bathroom, hiding behind its door while looking at both girls hugging each other while sobbing. At 15 years old, Seohyun has grown to be a beautiful swan.

That’s my best friend during my training years in SM. She didn’t make it because she got pregnant and the guy just ran away after she informed him of her situation.

“He’s not worth it” Seohyun heard her younger self said as she pacifies her friend “Just think of your baby, and let it grow to be a responsible individual”

Yonghwa reached for Seohyun’s hand, his ring glowed and with a blink of an eye they were back in Seohyun room. He cupped her face and wiped the tear that came down her cheek with his thumb “Now I understand.” He said his voice lower than a whisper

“Not just that, I saw how my unnies were heartbroken, I saw how they cried when their relationship didn’t go well” she replied in a hushed tone, she swallowed the lump on her throat

“But Seohyunie, did you see their faces when they found a new love? Did you see how their face glowed and how inspired they were when they love and be loved? Did you remember how you felt when that boy said that he liked you? I felt your heart fluttered that time. Love is a nice feeling, Hyun.” He said passionately

She looked at him while biting her lower lip, undecided “But..”

“Please let me heal your heart” he looked at her tenderly, he blinked as he realized how close they were, he stepped back “I promise to find someone suitable for you.” He added after he cleared his throat

She inhaled deeply “Okay” she agreed

“Just close your eyes and let me do the rest.” As soon as Seohyun closed her eyes, he stepped closer, and again he was captivated by her, he looked at her inviting lips and thought “How would it feel if I touched her lips with mine?”

“Is it done?” She said that startled Yonghwa and pulled him to reality, he let out a chuckle “It’s starting” he opened his palm and positioned it in front of her chest, then a pink light coming from his ring started to engulf Seohyun. They heard a broken glass sound as it has come into completion.

“It’s broken” he smiled “You can open your eyes and heart now” he said and stepped back immediately

“I feel different” She said, touching the left side of her chest

Yonghwa nodded, “It’s just a first, don’t worry I’d keep my promise, I’d find you a perfect mate. Just call my name when you need me, okay” with that he started to fade

“Wait!” she called and saw Yonghwa started to be clear again “Can I ask something?”

“Go ahead.” He answered

“Does Cupids have love life too?” she asked

“Yes, there are female cupids too” He answered

“So cupids are for cupids only?”

“Yeah, we have a certain rule to not fall in love with mortals” he answered, feeling quiet sad

Seohyun nodded in understanding “Ooohh.”

“Before I go, please keep our little secret from your Unnies.” With that he fades away leaving a pink light behind which died down in seconds

She shook her head “Even if I wanted to, they’d only think I’m crazy” Seohyun smiled, she walked out of her room, her hand on her chest feeling its heartbeat
