CUPID 5

This has been lying on my lappy long enough. I wanted to end it here but... maybe one last part will do...

I know from my previous installment, that Cupid Elders doesn’t have names.. But, while making this, it made me confuse of who said what. So I made up the younger generation Elders, they are called the Council; they are the underlings of the elders.

CUPID 5

SeoHyun was about to open the cubicle door when Yonghwa stopped her, he spoke in a hushed tone “Someone’s outside, it won’t look good if someone sees us going out from the same cubicle together, I’ll transfer to the men’s comfort room” and as soon as she nodded he disappeared from her sight

After a few minutes, Seohyun was waiting for Yonghwa to go out from the adjacent comfort room, her eyes lit up as she saw him emerge. They held hands and walked hurriedly while looking anxiously around the airport “Oppa, can’t you just make this trouble disappear?” she asked after much thought but before he could answer a woman magically appeared in front of them.

Seohyun’s eyes grew big at the sight, her grip tightened as her eyes roamed around and saw all the people around them froze. “What’s happening?!” she asked in a panicky voice

“Yonghwa Oppa!” the girl around their age is now studying Seohyun from head to toe and back “So you must be Seohyun, it’s good that you’re holding his hand, you did not froze like the others.” She smiled and transferred a meaningful gaze to Yonghwa and back “Im Shin Hye, a Cupid as well and a CLOSE friend of Yonghwa Oppa”

“What do you want?” Yonghwa stepped forward, hiding Seohyun and assumed a protective stance

“Ow cut that crap oppa, I’m not here to hurt her. You know d*mn well why I’m here.” She gave Yonghwa a piercing and a hurt look “I was tasked to bring you to our world, the Council wants to TALK to you” she emphasized

Seohyun grew uncomfortable by the minute, her intuitions says this other Cupid and her Yonghwa has unresolved issues in the past but she chose to trust her Yong, instead she asked “Did the Elder Cupid found out about us?” her worried voice made Yonghwa face her, he cupped her face endearingly and told her not to worry too much

“Seohyun-ssi, you dating did not only made a fuss in your world but also in ours, mainly because you’re dating one of our kind” Shin Hye answered her question which garnered a poisonous glance from Yonghwa

“Don’t worry, we’ll see through this. I’m sorry I can’t be with you through your ordeal, I have to face mine too.” he said and held her close

“It’s okay oppa, I’ll be strong. And I have my unnies with me, so don’t worry.” She hugged him back tightly “I’ll wait for you.”

Shin Hye looked at them a pang of jealousy hovering over her. They were through, Yonghwa and her, a long time ago, their personalities were just poles apart that love is not enough for them to be together, but she never stopped loving him. And it hurt her that he finally moved on and found a new love, and what is more spiteful to her is that he found it in a mortal. She smiled, a bitter taste surrounds her tongue, she knew she had to let go, but saying it is one thing but doing it is a different story “It’s time to go” she sighed as she tried hard to hold her tears in

He grasped her shoulders and looked straight to her eyes “You know the drill when you need me, right? I’ll be there as soon as I can” he said honestly. He stepped back and gave Shin Hye the go signal.

Seohyun saw them disappear from her sight and soon enough, the people around her started to move like nothing happened

She was about to enter a cab when she realized that she is expected for another 2 hours. She sighed, look around and saw an internet café nearby. She walks in with her cap hiding the full view of her face. Thankful that everyone is busy looking at their monitor, she slips inside an empty cubicle and closed its curtain in a hurry after alerting the person in charge of her presence. She surfed the web for her news and as she was expected, pictures of her and Yonghwa were scattered on screen. She felt her pulse quickened as she studied it one by one. There is no way she can deny that the picture is not her. With a hand on her forehead, she willed herself not to cry. She sat there looking at their happy faces, little by little her anxiety wear down; as her clouded mind became clear she started to plan for her next move.

At that same time, Yonghwa was in front of their Cupid Council (CC). Their knowledgeable eyes bore on him. “You should know why you are being called” CC Na Young started with a serene tone

Yonghwa nodded, he sucked in a nervous breath “Yes, if loving is a sin then I’m guilty” he said wittingly, trying to hide his trembling tone

“Loving someone is not a sin, as Cupids, we all know that. What is prohibited is Cupids in a relationship with a mortal” CC Jake answered “We understand that you tried hard to suppress your feelings towards her but as expected especially when your feelings are returned, it’s hard to turn it down. But the central problem here is your effort to balance 2 distinctive worlds, yours with us and yours with Seohyun, which is the main reason it is prohibited”

Yonghwa looked down to hide his worried face, he toyed the couple ring that he and Seohyun bought earlier at the amusement park. He felt Shin Hye stood by his side and tapped his shoulder lightly as if for assurance.

“So the only solution we can think of is to find out which world you truly belong once and for all” CC Na Young finished CC Jake’s sentence

“How are you going to do that?” Yonghwa looked up, his eyes confused and a bit surprised

“A test of will, you’ll be made mortal, stripped of your powers and your memory. And then you’ll be relocated” CC Na Young folded her arms across her chest as she gave him the details

“If the love u shared with Seohyun is so strong that you are drawn back to her despite all odes then you’ll live with her for the rest of your life. To live fully as human and we are not going to interfere” CC Jake answered, giving reassuring glances at Yonghwa

“But what if I never find her?” Yonghwa said uncertainty written all over his face

“Then it means your destiny is with us. And we will welcome you, although you will never see her again” CC Na Young looked at Yonghwa, both of them pitied the young Cupid but this is the most they can do for him after much deliberation from the other Council and Elder Cupids.

“Are you out of your mind?!” Yonghwa flared, forgotten of who he is talking to. “I won’t do that.” he continued calmly after he realized his mistake, shaking his head

“You have no choice. You have to know Yonghwa , this is not about punishing you but helping you to find your way” CC Jake encouraged him, he understood how he felt, he have loved a mortal before but he was not able to go this far like Yonghwa. He admired his bravery.

“But if I end up with Seohyun, how do I know that u wont butt in again or if I end up with you how do you know, I won’t see her again?” Yonghwa raised one of his brows, daring them

“This is about you making a choice, not us, this is the only way. Your heart will guide you to your true destiny, be it love or us” CC Na Young answered, smiling a little at the show of defiance, she has been like him in her younger days, way before her stepping up as Council “And whatever the outcome will be, we will honor it, as you also must” she emphasized

“Fine, I’ll do it! But I should say goodbye to Seohyun” Yonghwa threw his arms in the air, accepting his defeat

“It doesn’t work that way” CC Jake answered to Yonghwa’s surpise

He shook his head vigorously and stepped forward “No, I should at least say goodbye to her”

“No, the test begins … now” CC Jake touched Yonghwa’s chest and gave him a push.

All of a sudden, Yonghwa is standing on a park, confused; he looked around and read the sign board near him “Busan Park”

After two hours, and a phone call to Hyo, she is now standing at the entrance of the SME building. She took a deep breath and walked calmly. She saw their manager oppa waiting for her as soon as she walked out from the rotating glass door.

“Seohyun-ah, otoke?” he said as soon as he met her eyes, he followed her as she walks “Kwenchana?”

“Kwenchanayo oppa” she answered trying to hide her nervousness “Don’t worry, I, we will be fine” she continued to talk while walking “And mianhamnida” she stopped to look and bowed at him “I gave you much trouble”

“It’s okay Seohyun-ah. Let’s go, everyone is waiting for you” he said as he lead the way

Seohyun felt all eyes on her as she walked inside the conference room feigning confidence. She roamed her eyes inside and saw her Unnies sitting together at one side of the long conference table, and their big boss at the other side. Her picture with Yonghwa was shown on the oversized LCD monitor from whom they were all staring at before she made her way in.

And then again she felt her heart is going to jump out of her rib cage due to nervousness but she sucked it all in. With knees shaking she sat on the seat reserved for her, beside Hyoyeon and adjacent to their big boss. She felt Hyo’s hand trying to intertwine with hers as soon as she sat. She looked at each of her unnies with grateful eyes. She knew they stuck with her, she can feel it radiating through them.

Their big boss cleared his throat loudly, as if to interrupt with the reunion. “Seohyun, you have a LOT of explaining to do” he demanded his stares getting dangerous by the minute “Start now.”

Seohyun swallowed the lump on her throat before she spoke “First of all, I would like to apologize to my unnies and to the management for being reckless and for underestimating SNSD’s popularity.” She looked at them one by one and sighed “I don’t know if being in love is an acceptable reason, coz that is all I have. I fell in love and spend my first date with him. I have been following every rule there is in this company, and you all knew that this is my first time dating, I didn’t know what to do and ended up with such a mess. Again I’m sorry” she bowed at them

Their boss’ expression softens, he knew how adorable and obedient this girl is. If he knew she has been dating secretly, he would’ve given her a blind eye and let it go. He is not naïve; he knew his idols are dating secretly behind his back, they are in their teens or early 20’s so having a relationship is just normal. He understands all this, he just included a no dating contract so as to avoid this sort of thing to happen, but it doesn’t mean they can’t date secretly. He sighed his mind is constructing a plan on how to end the mess. He looked at their manager and asked “Is this all the pictures that were captured? Just holding hands and his arms on her shoulder?” he transferred his gaze to Seohyun “Did you do more intimate things like kissing him in public perhaps?”

Seohyun blushed and shook her head vigorously, her eyes wide “Aniyo!” she said as she heard her unnies giggled beside her “Unnie!” she pouted on them which made them giggle even more

Their boss tried his best not to smile over her cuteness, he knew she is telling the truth, he believes in her “Okay, we can say that this guy is your cousin and you went there to spend time with him as he is going away for some time” he pointed at Yonghwa on the monitor “We can hold a press conference and say it that way. You can do it, right Seohyun?” he looked at her intently

Upon hearing it, Seohyun felt a heavy object is pulling her heart down “Yes sir” she agreed reluctantly, her gaze met her unnies worried look

It has been a while since I updated.. kekeke.. Sorry for the long wait.. I was just busy spazzing on YongSeo's latest Daebak episode...

Part 4

After that infamous incident with Yonghwa, as much as they like Seohyun to be happy, the girls asked their relationship to be kept secret and be more careful in the eyes of the public.

“Seohyun has been looking great nowadays!” MC Yoo complimented her when they went to Come to Play as guests, one of their many album promotions.

Seohyun felt her cheeks reddened, she gave out a smile and looked down “Kamsahamnida” she said shyly

“Yeah, it makes me sad that we don’t have a teenager in our group. She has become a radiant lady” Taeyeon said

“Yeah she is glowing, sometimes that kind of glow is caused by love” MC Yoo smiled teasingly at Seohyun “Right SeoHyun-ssi?”

“Aigoo” she laughed nervously, she held Hyo’s hand that is beside her and pressed it lightly, looking for help

Hyoyeon clapped as soon as she got the message “She is!” All eyes and camera abruptly transferred from Seohyun to her “She’s always in love…. with goguma.” She finished her sentence

Seohyun sighed secretly and giggled, thankful of her savior. She saw her other unnies laugh too, and they started to talk about goguma to their relief.

After the recording, they were on their way to their dorm.

“Unnie, komawo.” She said reaching for Hyo’s hand

“It’s nothing, we perfectly knew you are not a good liar” she said as she put her hand on top of Seohyun’s hand

“So where is HE?” Tiffany grinned at her

“He’s somewhere, but unnie, where is a good place to go when you’re going on a date?” She asked both her unnies in a hushed tone afraid of their manager to hear

“Amusement park is the best for couples, riding a bicycle together or going to a movie and dinner date.” Tiffany enumerated excitedly

“But….” Hyo intercepted her excitement “Knowing your status as an idol, it is impossible to go on such a public place without anyone noticing you”

“Oh! You’re such a spoil sport!” Tiffany pouted “But yeah, Hyo is right Seohyunie..” she sighed and shook her head, disappointed

“How about going on that sort of date outside our country?” Seohyun said her eyes sparkling as the scenario danced in her head “I think it might work”

“Yeah, well for us to go on that kind of date, we really need to go to another country.” Hyo sighed at her optimism “But Seohyunie, it will take a proper planning and you should have a vacation for at least 5 days to go travel, and with our schedule nowadays, we can’t” she shook her head

Seohyun gave them a mysterious smile and asked their manager that is seated on the front seat of their van “We don’t have a schedule the whole day tomorrow, right Oppa?”

“Yes, Seohyunie, you have your long awaited rest day” He chuckled as he looked at her

Seohyun nodded cheerfully “Komawo oppa!”

“Yah! What are you going to do?!” Hyo asked her in an alarmed motherly tone

“I’ll be gone the whole day tomorrow but don’t worry unnie, I’ll be back by 8 or 9 in the evening” she said assuring “I think Japan would be great right? Since we have yet to debut there, no one might recognize me.” Seohyun said

“Seohyunie, it’s true that we have not yet debuted in Japan but you can’t underestimate our popularity, we have Japanese fans too.” Tiffany continued after pondering “Although I have to say Japan is a nice choice, since you can fly there for 2hours 14minutes to be exact. You’ll be back in no time” she smiled

“But you should have minute disguises, glasses and a cap or a beanie won’t hurt, just keep it low.” Hyo added

Seohyun pouted; her right knuckle below her chin as she tried to organize a plan in her head.

Tiffany nudged her “Don’t worry too much, we’ll help you. In fact, when we arrive at our house later, I’ll be the one to book your flight.” She volunteered

Seohyun looked at Tiffany her eyes rounded “Aniyo, you don’t have to Unnie!” she said shaking her head but to no avail her unnies insisted, so she just gave in.

“Yong!” Seohyun called his name the moment she entered her room, and in an instant she saw him standing in front of her, smiling at her with those soulful eyes

“Meet me at the airport at 2am later, okay?” she said as she sat on her bed

“Why?” Yonghwa asked with a confused look on his face

“We’re going to Japan” she gave him a bright smile

“But, we can be there without going inside the plane Hyun.” He answered while sitting next to her, his heart beating faster by the minute

“I know, but Tiffany unnie booked us a ticket, so we have to be there.” She answered, her head turned to face from him to the door when someone knocked on it, she stood up to open it “You have to be there, okay?” she looked at him tenderly as she held the doorknob. And as soon as Yonghwa nodded she said “Okay, see you later” and Yonghwa disappeared

“Are you helping me with my packing and my clothes to wear later?” she asked after she opened the door for her two unnies who nodded excitedly

Yonghwa stood on the roof of the tallest tower in Seoul as he was pondering on what to do with Seohyun. Yes, he is a Cupid and he should know such things, dating to be exact but he felt at lost. Dating a fellow Cupid is one thing but dating a mortal is different as it seems, aside from the broken rule, it’s hard for him to act as a mortal’s boyfriend.

Yes, they kissed but it was just a spur of a moment, as if a spell was casted through thin air the moment they looked at each other after she confessed. And boy was he thankful her unnies went home, if not, he might not know what he might do next.

And when Seohyun announced their trip to Japan later, he felt ambivalent. He is overjoyed just thinking of them spending time with each other, but nervous and awkward at the same time that his palms started to sweat and his heart raced just thinking of how to hold her hand.

At the airport entrance, Yonghwa, dressed in black tee and blue jeans, was waiting for Seohyun patiently cradling a blue backpack with him.

Seohyun stormed outside Hyo’s car, sporting a pink baby tee, skinny jeans, a pair of pink high cut converse shoes, a black baseball cap to hide her face and black brimmed eyeglasses completed her get up. “Oppa, mianheyo, I went here as fast as I could.” She said as soon as she is near him, Tiffany and Hyo trailing behind her

Tiffany handed her purse and passport and looked at Yonghwa “Take care of our Seobaby, arassoyo?”

“If not, 8 people will hate you” Hyo said with a smile on her face but her eyes tell otherwise

Yonghwa let out a nervous laugh and nodded to both of them “I’ll take good care of her.” he said

Both sighed and said their goodbyes, motioned for them to go inside for check in and turned their back to go back to their car as soon as they saw the couple inside.

Seohyun nudged Yonghwa and whispered “Oppa, by any chance do you have a passport?” she asked, worried

Yonghwa looked at the busy people around them and secretly opened his hand in front of Seohyun and a passport magically appeared. “I guess I have one” he grinned sheepishly

Seohyun’s eyes rounded in surprise, she looked around to check if someone saw what has just happened and sighed in relief after realizing that no one has been paying them much attention “Oppa, you should not do that in public” she whispered adamantly, her arms crossed and her head tilted on his direction

“Arasso” he nodded, a playful grin on his face. “Let’s go in” he was about to grab Seohyun’s elbow to guide her but he stopped midway, he tapped her instead and walk beside her

Exactly 5 am the plane touched down, the sun peeking its way from the clouds as soon as they walk outside the airport.

They went inside a café and started planning their day ahead. Seohyun took out a white diary from her bag, opened it and started to scribble something on it “Oppa, Tiffany Unnie said we should go to an amusement park. What do you think?” she said looking at him, her eyes sparkling with excitement

“Do you want to go there?” he asked cautiously not knowing of what to do, he feel alienated

“Yes, they said a couple should at least date in an amusement park at least once. They said it’s really fun” she answered

Yonghwa smiled tenderly “Hyun-ah, I might be Cupid, god of love, but I’m not an expert on dating in your world, we cupids in general just hook up individuals that we think are best for each other but after that we leave them as they grew together or fell apart. So whatever we are going to do here are new to me too.” He explained “So whatever they said is fun, then we’ll do it.” He finished

Seohyun smiled while looking at his lost expression “Don’t worry oppa. We’ll find our way through this” she said as she sipped her goguma latte

Yonghwa looked at her with adoring eyes he wanted to put his hand on top of Seohyun’s hand on the table but resisted, he sighed and said “Do you want to arm wrestle?”

“De?!” Seohyun looked at him, a surprised look on her face

“What are you trying to do Yonghwa?!” he scolded himself as he took as sip on his latte

“Okay” she agreed

It was his turn to get surprised but he chose to laugh it off and started their wrestle. As soon as her palm touched his fingers he felt a tingle, originated from his heart down to the pit of his stomach. “This is making me insane” he thought as he loose to her on purpose “Whoever will won this game will have a wish.”

Seohyun nodded while trying her best in defeating him. She beamed and clapped in delight as soon as she won. “So you owe me one wish now, right?” he nodded, a knowing smile on his lips

As expected, the amusement park date is fun. Seohyun and Yonghwa rode the giant teacup and spin it with incredible speed that they both felt nauseous. The moment they stepped outside that cup with unsteady gait, Yonghwa instinctively held Seohyun’s hand, pulled her close and his arm flew on her shoulder to steady her gait “Kwenchana?” he asked, sorry for spinning the cup wildly and at the same time concerned

With hands on her temples Seohyun looked up at him and smiled lovingly her eyes dazzling “Komawoyo oppa” she felt her heart started to pick up speed, and her cheeks flushed in a dark shade of pink as she look at his piercing eyes, his aristocratic nose and his full red lips, unknowingly she licked lips

As if time stood still, Yonghwa studied her almond shaped eyes that sparkled like the stars in the night, her perfectly shaped nose and her cherry lips wet from licking, he bit his lower lips as he tried to resist temptation, he sucked a long breath in, closed his eyes and exhaled loudly

Seohyun blinked, she shook her head to shake off the thought of their first kiss. “Oppa, kwenchanayo?” she broke their awkward silence

Yonghwa smiled awkwardly “Yeah, are you ready to go ride the roller coaster?” he said as he took his arm from her shoulder and took her hand in a subtle way “Jashik!” he exclaimed tenderly

Seohyun look at their intertwined hand gleefully she pressed his hand in return the moment she felt him pressed it. “Oppa, let’s buy cotton candy first.” She said trying to avoid the scariest ride there is in that place, she smiled sweetly at him

It has been hours and with the heating sun, they went inside a pasta restaurant to have their lunch. Seohyun look around the room before hesitantly taking off her cap before she ate. They had a good conversation; they laughed and whined like a normal couple does. They paid and walk hand in hand, her cap left behind.

It’s almost 4pm and they rode every single ride in that amusement park except one, the roller coaster. Yonghwa knew she was trying to avoid that but he wanted to see a different side of her. “Now for the grand finale..” he held her close as he dragged her to the roller coaster line.

She whined and tried her full force aegyo for them to skip that ride but to no avail, Yonghwa is firm on his decision, for the first time he did not let her win him “Oppa, I have a wish that you need to fulfill right?” she let out her tramp card

“Aniyo, I want your wish to be meaningful” he said sheepishly, his hand tightly held hers

Seohyun sat beside Yonghwa on the first row seat. Her heart is thumping hard due to fear as she watched the roller coaster rail, her eyes mirrored fear in the truest sense of the word. She checked her safety belt repeatedly “It won’t fall off, would it?” she asked the guy in-charge in which he answered reassuring her that it is safe

Yonghwa studied her terrified face, he felt guilt, he held his hand tight and tried to cheer her up “Hyun, this is really fun, we’ll just have to enjoy it, and it’s safe so you don’t have to worry, I’m here, I’m a magical being.” He assured her with a tender smile

Seohyun sighed and held his hand tight, hearing those words made her a bit assured. Yeah, how can she forget he has magic? If anything goes wrong they can just magically disappear from there. She gave him a nervous smile “I forgot you have magic”

The roller coaster started, they felt the wind blowing on their face, stronger by the minute. They felt their pulse quickened as it climbed a few feet from its starting point. As they stared down, they saw the whole area of the amusement park and some of the neighboring town beside it down under. They felt the cool air blown and their hair messed up, the anticipation of a sudden fall filled their hearts as they saw a deep slope ahead. As soon as their ride suddenly fell, it felt their internal organs were left behind, including their soul. They screamed their lungs out and felt everything they underwent was a blur, with every sharp turn and loop they held each others’ hand tightly and Yonghwa wrapped his arm on her shoulder for added protection. The moment their ride was almost over they looked at each other and laughed loudly as they arranged their hair. Seohyun wiped her damp cheeks, she don’t want for her tears to fall but they fell anyway as she conquered the roller coaster. She smiled to herself, yes she conquered one her fear but not without screaming and she have Yonghwa to thank that.

They stepped out of the ride and felt their world spinning, their knees wobbled each step they made but they felt ecstatic as they saw the candid picture that was captured, with their messed up hair and terrified expression, they laughed as they studied it on their hand.

“This will become a great memory.” Seohyun said quietly, her smile devine

Yonghwa took the strand of her hair away from her face and put it behind her ear, he looked at her tenderly and said “Mianhe, Seohyunie”

She looked up at him and smiled “Kwenchanayo, oppa. This is the first time I rode that thing and I had fun, although it was nerve wrecking but I conquered it, so it’s meaningful. And it’s more meaningful because I conquered it with you. Komawoyo.” She beamed, she held his hand and walked slowly, it’s almost sunset, they knew their day is almost over, they savored the happiness that they felt “I feel good”

They went inside a sushi restaurant and ate. Just before they finished eating Seohyun phone rang, she answered it the third ring “Hyo unnie! I had fun today! Thank you for your help” she started as soon as she tick the answer button

“Seohyunie, we have a problem. Get back here as soon as possible!” Hyo answered urgently “We’re in trouble. Somebody took pictures of you there and uploaded it on the internet. Manager oppa is furious. And I think SM bosses saw the pictures too, it’s all over the net!”

Seohyun’s then happy face went pale, her hand trembling while listening to the other line “I’ll be there unnie.” she said as her tears flow down her cheeks. She stared at Yonghwa for one whole minute before she spill the beans on him “O-oppa otoke?” she finished her sentence , her face clueless and afraid “Our perfect date has ended with a disaster.” She sobbed “Mianhe, if only I had been more careful, this should not have happened.” she added and stood up “Let’s go oppa. I need to go back ASAP”

At lost for words, Yonghwa followed her “I-it’s not your fault Seohyunie, I should’ve taken care of you more.” He said as soon as he found his tongue, but she is deaf with her own worries, he grabbed her wrist, he put his hands on her shoulders and leveled himself on her, he caught her terrified eyes before saying “It’s not your fault Seo JooHyun. Arasso? I’m here, don’t be afraid. I’ll stay by your side as long as it takes” he said his heart on his sleeves

Seohyun looked at the sincere man in front of her; her heart swooned as she does so. How can he be so handsome? She cupped his face lovingly “Oppa, whatever happens, remember that I love you” she said she stepped closer and gave him a quick kiss on his waiting lips “We need to go back there oppa, please use your magic, at the airport will do.”

Part 3

Seohyun took a sip from her cup of tea, while reading her favorite book. Alone, she figured she should chill out at the nearby coffee shop. She looked up when someone sat across her. “What are you doing back here?” she asked as soon as she saw Yonghwa

“I’m still trying to figure you out. I thought I already have.” He smirked, his left eyebrows slightly raised

“Just leave me alone, please?” she begged while flashing her awkward smile, while looking at him

“No, you should take this seriously.” He said while snatching her book when she attempted to ignore him by reading it “Hey! Listen, I’ve really done a good job by finding you a perfect match in Minho but what do I get?! Just one date and nada?!” he rapped on her

“So?” she rolled her eyes and crossed her arms on her chest

“So?!... I have a reputation to make. I never miss” he argued

“There’s a first time for everything” she retorted, she wagged her index finger to state her point

He leaned on the table and tapped it “No, not when it comes to love, not when it comes to me!” he said through gritting his teeth

“You are so cocky. You know that?!” she said sarcastic

“Yeah I am! It’s just that I’m trying to give you a life!” he threw his arms on the air in exasperation

“I have a life! I’m alive. Look at me breathing.” she retorted her eyes sparkling, as much as she felt annoyed by his interference she is enjoying her time arguing with him

“Yeah right!” Yonghwa stood up and turned his back on her

“So you’re back.” she thought with a smile, she never thought she missed him after she saw his face “You’re quiet glad seeing him back Seohyun-ah! Get a hold of yourself!” she told herself but smiled brightly after she realizes it and shook her head “I’m going crazy”

Yonghwa has made it a point that the whole group knew him. He approached them one-by-one pretended to be a fan of Seohyun. In fact he has made it as far as befriending her Unnies and gaining their trust, so it was not a problem for him to be seen talking to Seohyun publicly.

“That Yonghwa guy is really persistent in wooing our Seohyun” Tiffany said with a smile on her face, she’s looking at them talking “Look at him. He adores her. It’s written all over his face” she continued, happy for her dongsaeng

“Yeah he really does. I hope he can break that ice our Seohyun has enclosed herself into” Hyoyeon answered “Omo! Are they arguing?! Wow, he can even let the most composed Seohyun argue that much! Look at her nostrils flaring” she chuckled

“I already like him for her. He brings out the best and the worst in her, don’t you think?” Tiffany nodded in approval

Hyoyeon nodded “I like him too” she said that made Tiffany looked at her, eyes bulging “For her! I like him for HER!” she answered as soon as she caught Tiffany’s reaction. They laughed at their own silliness

“I hope they turned out well” Hyoyeon added

Seohyun handed Yonghwa a hand phone “Use this”

“What’s this?” he studied it and looked at Seohyun, giving her a quizzical look

“That’s a hand phone, you can use it to call or text someone. You can use my old phone” she stated matter-of-fact

Yonghwa chuckled, his tone sarcastic “I KNOW what it is. I was asking what’s with this? Giving me this. When you can call me anytime you want without it.”

“Most or let’s say normal people use hand phones to call someone” Seohyun whined

“I’m not most or let’s say a normal person.” He retorted “I’m Cupid!”

“Look! Can you please just listen to me once? Tiffany and Hyoyeon Unnie are looking at us.” She hissed “First, I would look silly if I call your name in public. Second….”

“Second..?” he looked at her with a quizzical look

“Second, it would be great calling and texting each other like a normal couple does” she couldn’t probably say that, could she? “Just use it” she said instead after her long pause

Yonghwa closed his eyes, his fingertips massaging his nose bridge “A-Arasso” he sighed accepting defeat

Seohyun smiled, proud of herself “Thank you”

Yonghwa has been busy looking for Seohyun’s match. He has been touring around the globe so he has not seen her for days now.

She has been calling him since the day he went away but his recorded voice always picked her calls

Some of her unnies have schedules and some went out to watch movies but she was not in the mood so she stayed at home. She cooked her own lunch and started to eat. She took the phone in her pocket and dialed his number. And for the first time, he answered his call “Why record the voice if you’re not calling back? It’s making people wait.” She said as soon as he answered the phone

“Hey goddess, you must be having your lunch alone in your house, am I right?” Yonghwa said after a moment of silence “Your Unnies must have asked you to go out with them but you refused, so you’re there eating alone with a book on your table.” He continued

Seohyun looked at her back to confirm she is still alone in that house when Yonghwa continued to speak “You looked around to see if I’m there and soon you realize I’m not.” Her eyes rounded while he spoke “Right then, you’ll realize how lonely and pathetic you are”

Seohyun felt her face reddened with suppressed emotions “Will you come here?!” she said dangerously with gritted teeth. She heard him chuckle on the phone and at her back

“What do you want my lady?” Yonghwa gave her a playful smile

“I’m not lonely and pathetic.” She denied in a controlled voice

“If you say so.” He answered which garnered a deathly glare from Seohyun

“Arasso, arasso!” he said both hands up in surrender “But you have to hear this, I think I found your match” he said while taking her chopsticks and stuffed his face with sushi

Seohyun sighed and rolled her eyes “Who is it this time?” she asked with a bored and resigned tone

“He’s a Prince of Peru. Good looking, smart, rich and has a good heart. He’s a philanthropist!” he enumerated “Interested?” he asked still busy eating

Seohyun snorted and shook her head “Can’t you find someone closer?” she said and looked at him with longing on her eyes

“Omo, what’s the name of this dish? It’s delicious!” he said and gave her a spoonful of it “How about Jinwoon?

Seohyun opened her mouth and chewed it while looking at him “He’s a great person but I won’t date someone whose got my name as his password. It’s creeping me out” she said as soon as she finished chewing.

Yonghwa sighed “Yeah, yeah we’ve gone over this.” He said while nodding “Kyu Hyun?”

“He’s just an oppa” she answered

“Key?”

“It would be so awkward!” she smiled at him “You know what, I think you.. Just have no idea what I want.” She said her expression became softer, she stood up and went to get a glass, poured water in it and handed it to him

Yonghwa let out a chuckle “What is it exactly what you’re looking for?”

“Believe me. You. Have. No. idea.” She emphasized slightly nodding

“Yeah, then why don’t you enlighten me?” he said his eyes not leaving her face

Seohyun took a deep breath, she got the chopsticks he’s holding and look at him with eyes full of love “You…”

Yonghwa’s eyes glint with happiness as soon as he heard the word. He blinked his eyes and bit his lower lip as he studied her face closely, looking for her sincerity

Seohyun glance down and sighed “A-and I know it’s impossible.. because of the rules and everything…but..I..” said her eyes sparkled with unshed tears, she sighed to prevent them from falling

“Ssshhhh..” Yonghwa closed their distance caressed her face tenderly and kissed her

Seohyun’s eyes remained open in shock while Yonghwa kissed her, as the kiss grew deeper her eyes grew heavy, her arms flew around his neck for support as she felt her knees gone weak

Hyoyeon and Tiffany decided to go earlier than Seohyun expected them to, they opened the front door while talking about their day at the mall

“Soehy…...oohh!!” Hyoyeon stopped calling her name when they saw Seohyun and Yonghwa kissing beside the dining table

“Omooooo!!” Tiffany gaped at them, she grasped Hyoyeon’s arm, pulling it from excitement

Yonghwa and Seohyun pushed each other in shock, their face burning with embarrassment as they look at both people that were as shock as them

Seohyun fanned her reddened face “U-uhm you should probably go for now” she said while looking at Yonghwa

He bit his red swollen lips “U-uh yeah, I’ll call you later” he said looking at her tenderly, he faced her unnies, smiled and bowed slightly “Hello, and bye. See you!” he walked pass them in a hurry and went out of their house

Tiffany and Hyoyeon look at Seohyun intently their arms crossed, a slight smile plastered on their face, waiting for an explanation as soon as Yonghwa stepped out

“Oh God! Oh God! I know, I know it’s forbidden love and I’m doomed and we’re doomed and everything’s doomed!” she rapped feeling regret, but undeniably happy

Tiffany nodded “That sums about up”

“Forbidden Love?” Hyoyeon asked “Why is that?”

“Yeah, because of the rules.” She said still on dreamland

“Rules?!” Both asked simultaneously, confused

“Y-yeah” she answered as if just awoken from sleep “You know, our company rules.. no dating rules.” She covered

“Oh! That rule!” Hyoyeon smiled getting what she meant “well, at least you’re not hiding from anything anymore. I knew you love him and you’re suppressing yourself” she smiled at her

“And you’ve become a normal girl!! Just like us. So don’t worry, we’ll help you” Tiffany volunteered and dragged her to the sofa “Now tell us what happened, pali!!!” she said excitement all over her face
