CAMPUS CRUSH 10

Jung Jinwoon, at 6 feet tall he is towering over guys his age. A rookie ramp and commercial model and a trainee at JYP, he is somewhat popular. No erase that, he is popular. He can sing, dance and play instruments like drums and piano, but is more confident in playing his guitar. And most importantly he is Seo Joohyun’s childhood friend, her sole guy friend, and he can confidently say, his best friend.

He was once invited to be a member of the school band CNBLUE but his schedules won’t allow him. School work, trainings and some gigs prevented him from doing so.

It was a lazy afternoon just after class, Jinwoon sat next to the window as soon as the classroom was empty. It was those moments of solitude, where he can relax, compose some songs and play his guitar, when he heard someone called his name.

“Jinwoon-ah!” it was Hyoyeon noona. He looked at her curiously as she catches her breath.

“What’s going on?” he thought as he was being dragged outside, but as soon as he heard her name, he caught up and ran as fast as he could. To wherever his favourite noona is going to take him. “why? What is happening to Joohyunie?” he asked himself

And as soon as they stop in front of the CNBLUE practice room, a lot of questions have formed in his head. He tried to ask Hyoyeon but to his surprise he was swept inside in less than a minute.

“Joohyun-ah!” he exclaimed as soon as he saw her and Jung Yonghwa inside the room.

Jinwoon took long strides going to Joohyun, giving off his cute eye smile and stood beside her. He gave them a questioning look.

“Jinwoon-ah, about the school musical...” she hesitated “Would you like to do it with me? Like form a duo or somewhat like a band?” she added shyly her cheeks turned into a deeper shade of pink

Jinwoon’s lips formed into a circle as he nodded in understanding “sure, why not..”  he smiled

Yonghwa just sat there, looking at them the whole exchange, unable to speak. It just dawned to him that he was not the one Seo Joohyun was referring to earlier “Aishhh... that was embarrassing!” he thought as he shook his head silently. He looked at Jinwoon, jealousy evident on his eyes

Their attention has shifted as they heard Joohyun’s phone rang, she fished it inside her skirt pocket, looked who the caller was and exclaimed “Omo! Yeoboseyo omma!” she said while looking at Jinwoon

“Omoni?” he asked and she nodded in response

Yonghwa was at lost for words “Omoni he said..what in the world?...” he thought  “

“I’m sorry, I forgot about the time. I’m heading outside. See you!” she then hanged up

Joohyun faced Yonghwa and said “I believe we’re done here?”

He nodded “I’ll walk you outside” he said as he stood on his feet and fetched his bag.

“There’s no need really, Jinwoonie is here anyway” she countered

He gritted his teeth and said “I insist.”

“Suit yourself.” Joohyun replied and started for the door as Jinwoon took her bag and carried it for her..

They walk side by side in silence, until they reached the front gate. Mrs. Seo went out of the car as soon as she saw her lovely girl emerge, with two handsome guys in tow. She smiled to herself “Hmmnn, my little girl is now a grown up. How time flies.”

“Jinwoon-ah, been a long time! Look at you!” Mr’s Seo said her hands on Jinwoon’s shoulders while studying him

“Omoni, how are you? You look younger than the last time I saw you” he said after he gave the older woman a kiss on the cheek.

Mrs. Seo chuckled “Oh you smooth talker. And that was like, what, 2 months ago? You were like a fixed figure in our house almost every day and now...”

Jinwoon smiled shyly, “Less than 2 months omoni, it’s just that I have been very busy. But we always keep in touch.” He said and looked at Joohyun “Right Seohyun-ie?” he bumped her shoulder lightly, as he called her with his pet name for her.

“Yes” she bumped back playfully, just as her mother looked at the guy behind them “Oh and mom, this is Jung Yonghwa. The leader of our school band called CNBLUE” she added and motioned him

“Anyeonghaseyo” Yonghwa bowed  “Jung Yonghwa imnida”  as he caught Mrs. Seo’s extended hand

“Why, hello Yonghwa-ssi. It’s nice to finally meet you.” She said suppressing a smile on her face as she saw her daughter’s face blush. “I heard about you and your band from these two. Please take care of them well”

“Yes, ma’am.” He replied

“So let’s go?” she then looked at Jinwoon and Hyoyeon who came from nowhere. “Hitch with us?

“Yes, omoni!” “Yes, Imo!”  Jinwoon  and Hyo said simultaneously

“Bye!” they waved to Yonghwa as soon as they ride the car.

Yonghwa went back to the practice room in deep thought. “they’re close, and she like him and he doesn’t know, and I like her and....” he stopped, and gave out a frustrated sigh “Man that was embarrassing!!” he said out loud as soon as he remembered his cockiness as he assumed Seo Joohyun had a crush on him.

“So tell me, is it true that you have a crush on me?!” 3 guys on the verge of laughing yelled at him like that was the funniest thing they heard their entire life

His face turned bright red and said “YAH!!!”

With that, they literally rolled on the floor laughing.
